   CFM Study Guide

ASFPM has recently developed a CFM Study Guide  to help those who are interested in becoming a CFM to study for the test.  Click on the link or go to CFM Certification, Certification. 

The CFM exam is proctored at every NMFMA Workshop/Conference.

      Upcoming NMFMA workshops/conferences are scheduled for the following times:

Fall 2018 September 11-14, Ruidoso Convention Center, 111 Sierra Blanca Drive, Ruidoso, NM.  The conference hotel
is the MCM Elegante Lodge and Resort, located just across the parking lot from the convention center.
Loretta Hatch is the conference/program director.

Spring 2019 April 16-19, Hotel Albuquerque, 800 Rio Grande Blvd., Albuquerque, NM.  NMFMA is hosting the Arid 
Regions conference this year.  Contact Alandren Etlantus at if you would like to

Purpose:    To plan and produce semi-annual workshops for New Mexico

                    floodplain managers and others.

Purpose:    To make GIS more available to NMFMA members

                    and communities throughout the State.

Training and Education Committee


Purpose:  To develop training and education opportunities for floodplain managers and others.

NMFMA is interested in developing more training opportunities for its members.  If you have ideas about training classes that can be given at our conferences/ workshops or as separate training events, please contact us. 




  Purpose of the New Mexico Floodplain Managers Association

1. To promote public awareness of proper floodplain management;
2. To promote the professional status of floodplain management and secure all benefits resulting there from;
3. To promote a liaison between individual concerns with proper floodplain management and to
  encourage the exchange of ideas;
4. To keep individuals concerned with proper floodplain management well informed through education and
  professional seminars and to provide a method for dissemination of information, both general and technical;
5. To inform concerned individuals of pending floodplain legislation and other related management 
  matters, and;
6. To study and support legislation pertinent and necessary to the effective implementation of floodplain
  management matters.
