NMFMA Spring Workshop - Santa Fe, NM
The Spring 2018 workshop will be held at the Drury Hotel in Santa Fe on April 10-13, 2018. The theme for the workshop is "Floodplain Modeling". You can access the preliminary agenda from the registration page. The complete agenda will be available as it is finalized. A walking tour of the downtown Santa Fe area will start at the hotel at 7:00 PM on Wednesday after the social for all those who are interested. A $25 fee is required. Call for 2018 Spring Workshop Presenters
NMFMA is currently seeking presenters for technical and non-technical topics related to Stormwater and Floodplain Management for its 2018 Spring Workshop to be held in Santa Fe, NM.

2018 Workshop Program
NMFMA’s 2018 Spring Workshop and General Membership Meeting will take place April 10-13, 2018 in Santa Fe, NM. The workshop and GMM will be held at the Drury Hotel and will be the venue for: one day of training opportunities; two-half days and one full day of professional development sessions; networking opportunities; and an exhibitor tradeshow.
The conference brings together engineers, geoscientists, technologists, faculty, government representatives, students and other members of the community. Last year’s professional development sessions included discussions on managing flood risk through projects, new topographic mapping technologies, debris flow effects of wildfire and mitigation measures utilized, updates on FEMA Risk MAP, work being done by neighboring states for post disaster mapping, low impact development and green infrastructure, erosion control and scour analysis design. An anticipated 200 delegates will be in attendance at this year’s workshop.
Professional Development Submissions
Presentations should be 45 minutes in length. Presentations of 30 minutes in length will also be considered. All presentations must include time for questions and answers. FEMA is seeking Environmental Floodplain Specialists and Historic Preservation Specialists. Check out the FEMA/NFIP page on the "Other Agencies" tab.

NMFMA is interested in developing more training opportunities for its members. If you have ideas about training classes that can be given at our conferences/ workshops or as separate training events, please contact us.
